Weather forecasters tell us relief is within sight, but the hot weather that has prompted heat advisories throughout the state continue for today. Yesterday, the temperature hit 97 in St. Louis, which registered a heat index of 108 degrees. The National Weather Service in Weldon Spring issued the heat advisory and doesn’t expect to lift it until tomorrow. The advisory mainly cautions residents about outside activities, reminding them to take breaks and drink plenty of fluids. The Weather Service expects temperatures in the St. Louis area to be in the low 90s. Combine that with the humidity expected today and the heat index likely will hit 105.
