Incumbent Governor Bob Holden and challenger Claire McCaskill have squared off in two debates for the Democratic nomination for Governor. The leading Republican candidate, Matt Blunt, says he didn’t listen or watch the two debates. He had other committments both of those nights. Blunt says he wants to talk about the issues, and from what he hears, he didn’t miss that by missing the two debates. Blunt also doesn’t put much stock in a poll touted by the McCaskill campaign that shows him beating Holden by just a couple of percentage points and McCaskill beating Blunt by several points. He says he sees no difference in how he would take on either Democrat.
