The Rams and tackle Orlando Pace can start talking about a contract again. Talks have been on hold since March because of NFL rules. Pace, for the second year in a row, is the team’s franchise player, so any deal that would have been signed before July 15, would have prohibited the Rams from designating any one else their franchise player over the length of a new contract. Pace and the Rams want a long-term deal but the hang up appears to be the size of a signing bonus.
