Mizzou quarterback Brad Smith isn’t in the most select group in the world, but it has to be nice to at least be mentioned. The Tiger junior is one of 42 players who are on the O’Brien Award pre-season watch list. The O’Brien Award is given at the end of every college football season to the nation’s best quarterback. Smith, whos name has also been mentioned in early Heisman Trophy discussions, is already 7th on Mizzou’s rushing list with 2,339 yards, but needs just 722 more to replace Zack Abron as the all-time leader. Smith’s 2,951 yards passing is 8th on MU’s list. He’s also on the verge passing Jeff Handy as the school’s all-time offensive leader—he needs just 146 more passing or rushing yards to do it.
