A study is getting underway at the Washington University Medical Center to compare the various treatments for asthma sufferers and the effectiveness of the drugs being taken by patients. Doctor Mario Castro, an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatricts at Washington University, leads the research team. He says there are situations in which the medication prescribed works in dealing with asthma, but there are side effects. Doctor Castro says a lower dose of a medication that might have side effects would be more beneficial to the patient. So, the study will try to determine whether lower doses might have the same positive impact. Anyone who would like to take part in the study should contact the Medical Center – toll free – at 877-888-5864.
