Governor Bob Holden has signed into law a bill that makes it more expensive for people who ignore calls to jury duty. The fine for failing to show up is doubled – to $500, and a judge can order the no-show to do community service, too. The same bill bars employers from requiring workers to take vacation time if they have to serve on a jury.
