Royals Shut Out Again

July 7, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

For the second straight night the Royals were the victims of a complete-game shutout. On Monday Twins starter Brad Radke tossed a four-hitter and teammate Johan Santana did him one better by throwing a three-hitter on Tuesday. Santana’s effort led the Twins to a 4-0 win over the Royals at the Metrodome. The Royals didn’t notch a base hit after the fifth inning and they had just one base runner after the fifth—Desi Relaford led the ninth inning off with a walk, but Angel Berroa flied out and Ken Harvey ended the game with a double play. Royals starter Zack Greinke dropped to 1-6 after allowing all four Twins runs. Greinke has an ERA of 3.86, but his teammates have produced just eight runs in his six losses. The Royals have dropped seven in a row and 12 of their last 13.
