Keeping up with Carl Edwards will be quite a task this holiday weekend. The Columbia native will compete in the NASCAR truck race at Kansas Speedway on Saturday afternoon, then he’ll hop a private plane so he can race in a dirt-track event at Lebanon I-44 Speedway. After a good night’s sleep, he’ll head to Monett, Missouri to race at their dirt track. Edwards is currently second in the truck standings and just 131 points out of first place…..Jeff Gordon will be the pole sitter for this weekends race at Daytona. If a driver with Missouri ties wins the race he’ll have to come from behind. St. Louis native Rusty Wallace qualified 27th yesterday, Fenton native Ken Schrader will start 29th, Joplin’s Jamie McMurray has the 32nd spot and Mike Wallace, who got in with a provisional, will start 41st.
