Governor Bob Holden and his main opponent in the race for the Democratic nomination for Governor will square off in two debates prior to the August 3rd Primary. Roy Temple, the Holden for Governor Campaign Manager, says the toe-to-toes between Governor Holden and State Auditor Claire McCaskill will take place two weeks before the vote – on July 19th in Kansas City and July 20th in St. Louis. Two other Democratic candidates for Governor have not been invited to the debates. An official with one of the news organizations involved in the debate says neither met the necessary guidelines, which include adequate support in the polls. The other two Democrats are Jim LePage of Jefferson City and Jeffery Emrick of Blue Summit.
