The assistant coaching vacancies on Quin Snyder’s staff have been filled. Former Butler assistant Jeff Meyer was officially introduced to the media on Thursday, completing a busy week for the program. On Monday, former Texas A&M head coach Melvin Watkins was hired as an assistant. Meyer spent three years at Butler and was a part of the Bulldog’s run to the Sweet 16 in 2003. Before that, Meyer was an assistant at Winthrop University where he helped them to a 51-46 win over Mizzou at the Hearnes Center on December 4, 2000. From 1981-1997 Meyer was the head coach at Liberty University, where he guided their move from NAIA to NCAA Division I. In 1994 Liberty earned its first trip to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big South Conference title.
