MU Assistant Basketball Coach Harvey Quits

June 18, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

University of Missouri Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Tony Harvey has resigned, a month after being suspended from the team for possible violations of NCAA rules. Harvey is accused of giving $250 to former Tiger player Ricky Clemons. Harvey has denied the charge. His lawyer says Harvey will continue to cooperate in the NCAA investigation and is going to pursue other opportunities in basketball, but he would not elaborate. The University is expected to finish its response to the allegations by the first of July. Harvey has been with the team since 1999 when Head Coach Quin Snyder was hired.
