St. Louis celebrates the Olympics and its place in history this week as the torch relay comes to Missouri. Festivities are planned for Forest Park tomorrow night at the conclusion of the Olympic Torch Relay as the city celebrates the centennial of the first Olympics held in America. The 1904 games were held in Forest Park and at Washington University. Several former Olympians will be honored, including many from St. Louis. The program also will look back at 100 years of Olympic history. Perhaps the most famous St. Louis Olympian, Jackie Jyner-Kersee, will light the Torch Relay Cauldron tomorrow night just before fireworks light up the sky.
