SMS-West Plains has hired Brian Osterman to be their new basketball coach on Tuesday. Osterman takes over for Tom Barr who resigned last month after the program was put under investigation for alleged illegal plane rides for recruits. Osterman spent five seasons at Colby County (Kan.) Community College and had a record of 90-66. He was 50-14 over the last two seasons. Before his run at CCCC, Osterman was an assistant at Missouri Western from 1992-1996.
