Safety First! The Message For Eighth Annual WorkSAFE Week

June 9, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

The state’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance is asking Missouri’s employers and employees to be careful on the job as the state marks the eighth annual WorkSAFE Week. The costs associated with workplace injuries are constantly rising, and that means higher insurance premiums. Dennis Smith, President of Missouri Employers Mutual – the state’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance – says no profession is safe from workplace injuries. Missouri is getting better in its efforts to cut down on the number of workplace injuries and the severity of those injuries, but it still has a long way to go. According to Smith, on a national level, businesses spend about $130-Billion each year, just to take care of injured workers.
