Lambert was 6-4 with a 3.31 ERA…. The Royals had two picks in the first round (14,29) and a sandwich pick (31), which is compensation for Raul Ibanez signing with the Mariners in the off-season. With their first pick, Kansas City took high school third baseman Billy Butler of Jacksonville, Florida—he hit .426 for Wolfson High School this season. Butler agreed to a deal which offered him a $1.4-million signing bonus. With their second pick, they went with University of South Carolina pitcher Matt Campbell and used their sandwich pick to select Texas hurler James Howell. Both are lefties. with their second pick.
