Central Missouri State and Delta State battled in a semifinal game at the NCAA Division-II World Series with CMSU prevailing 12-9. The Mules found themselves in an 8-3 hole after DSU scored five runs with two outs in the fifth inning. It remained 8-3 until Central exploded for eight runs in the seventh inning—Josh Eftink’s two-run homer gave the Mules the lead and they never trailed the rest of the way. Two of Eftink’s three hits have been home runs in the World Series. CMSU will have to beat Delta State again today to advance to the championship round, where Grand Valley State of Michigan awaits. The Mules are the defending champions in Division-II.
