Cardinals Lose Second Straight To Cubs

May 24, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Matt Morris was touched for four runs in the second inning and that was all the Cubs needed to down the Cardinals 4-3 at Wrigley. Three of those runs came in the form of an Aramis Ramirez home run and the rally erased a 1-0 Cardinals lead. Morris was charged with the loss and dropped to 4-4 while Matt Clement earned his sixth win of the season. Scott Rolen drove in two runs with a home run and an RBI single to give him 43 for the season—that’s the best in the major leagues. Albert Pujols hit his 12th homer of the season, which is tied for second in the majors. The Cardinals dropped two-of-three from the Cubs and have Monday off.
