For the second straight night the Royals scored all of their runs with three homers. On Tuesday they beat the Rangers 7-6 thanks to blasts from Carlos Beltran, Matt Stairs and Mike Sweeney. Wednesday night they won 5-3 with homers from Juan Gonzalez, Angel Berroa and Ken Harvey. Berroa and Harvey got the Royals on the board with solo shots in the third and fourth innings. With the score 2-1 in the seventh, Gonzalez ripped a three-run homer to make it 5-1. Jimmy Gobble got into a bases-loaded jam and was pulled for Sean Camp, who hit Gerald Laird with a pitch and gave up a sacrifice fly to Michael Young. Jaime Cerda relieved Camp to get the final out of the inning. In the eighth and ninth innings Justin Huisman gave up just one hit to get the first save of his career and Gobble improved to 2-2. It was the first time this season that the Royals have put together consecutive road wins.
