Royals Swept In New York

May 3, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals were on the wrong end of a sweep in the Bronx. K.C. lost all three games to the Yankees over the weekend, falling 4-2 in Sunday’s series finale. The Royals actually led 2-0 before New York rallied. Mike Mussina pitched seven strong innings to earn the win. He retired 11 straight Royals at one point. Jeremy Affeldt took the loss for Kansas City. Mike Sweeney drove in both runs for the Royals. With a 7-16 mark, the Royals now own the worst record in the American League, and the second worst record in the majors.
