University of Missouri-Rolla pitcher Christy Deken tied the NCAA Division-II softball record with 23 strikeouts in a single game. Thanks to Deken’s performance, the Miner’s took a 3-2 win over Emporia St. in ten innings. But Deken wasn’t the only pitcher in a groove on Tuesday. Her opponent Mellissa Stevens struck out 19. The 43 strikeouts in one game are believed to be an NCAA Division-II record.
