The Excelsior Springs boys’ golf team will have a tough time repeating as Class 3 champions. Three of their five varsity players were suspended from the team. School officials won’t divulge why the players were kicked off the team for two weeks. Districts will begin before the two-week suspension is lifted. Excelsior Springs beat Carthage High School by nine strokes in the 2003 Class 3 tournament.
