Abrahamson-Henderson To Stay At SMS

April 22, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Coach Abe isn’t going anywhere. SMS women’s basketball coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said yesterday that she would no longer seek the head-coaching job at Auburn. The Springfield News-Leader reported this morning that sources indicated that she was offered the job and could have earned upwards of $400,000 per season with incentives. Abrahamson-Henderson cited the loyalty the university has shown her as one reason for staying. In two years at SMS Abrahamson has led the Lady Bears to a Missouri Valley Conference regular season title and two conference tournament championships. The tourney crowns have earned SMS automatic bids to the NCAA tournament.
