A group of Missourians wants to spruce up the area alongside the Missouri River just prior to the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Lewis and Clark’s journey up the Missouri. Missouri River Relief has a plan to pick up trash and debris along the 170 miles of the river during an eight-week period that begins May 1st. Organizers have called the effort “Voyage of Recovery” in a nod to the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition. It’s to run two weeks ahead of the celebration.
