The White Sox rocked Darrell May Tuesday afternoon as the Royals lost 12-5 in Chicago. He allowed seven runs off eight hits and four walks in Kansas City’s first road game of the season. May got into early trouble as the White Sox rallied for three runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Royals bounced back when Mike Sweeney and Angel Berroa hit homers in the third to tie the game at 3-3. Kansas City even took a brief lead when Aaron Guiel hit a solo home run in the fourth to make it 4-3 with a solo blast. But the wheels soon fell off for the Royals, as the White Sox scored four runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh… Royals’ starter Kevin Appier is ready to make his 2004 debut after coming back from off-season elbow surgery. He’s scheduled to pitch Saturday against the Twins.
