Roger Clemens spent 20 seasons terrorizing American League hitters. Now he’s doing the same to the Senior Circuit. The Rocket lasted six and two thirds innings against the Cardinals and led Houston to a 5-3 win over St. Louis. His dominance ruined a great performance by Cardinal starter Jeff Suppan, who lasted seven innings and gave up two runs off six hits, no walks and seven strikeouts. Adam Everett hit a solo home run in the first inning and Lance Berkman followed suit in the second to give the Astros a 2-0 lead. Houston pushed that lead to 5-1 before Jim Edmonds and Scott Rolen went deep in the bottom of the ninth to close the gap to 5-3. The Cardinals are 1-5 at home this season.
