The State Revenue Report for March indicates the improvement continues. General revenue collections for the year to date have increased by 5.2 percent. That does not include the $95.1-Million received from the federal government to make up for the federal tax cuts. Total general revenue year-to-date collections have increased by 7.5 percent over the same period last year. Revenue Director Carol Fischer says it’s too early to tell whether overall revenues will stay at the Republicans’ budget estimated growth of about five percent. Governor Bob Holden called that number too optimistic and last summer, withheld nearly $200-Million in education money. He has since given back about half that amount.
