The St. Louis Blues postseason plans have temporarily been put on hold. The Blues fell to Detroit 3-2 on Thursday night. The Red Wings led 2-0 after one, but Mike Sillinger and Brian Savage scored in the first 3:30 of the second period to tie the game. Ray Whitney scored the game-winner for Detroit later in the period. The Blues dominated most of the game, outshooting Detroit 28-12. Nashville’s 3-1 win over Chicago left the Blues, Predators and Edmonton Oilers tied for seventh place in the Western Conference. Each team has 89 points as they battle for the final two playoff spots in the West. St. Louis and Nashville each have two games left, Edmonton has one game remaining. The Blues play at Nashville on Saturday, then wrap up the regular season Sunday at Minnesota.
