House Approves Proposal Regarding Changes To Conservation Laws

March 31, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Initiative petitions seeking to change state conservation laws would have to clear a higher hurdle under a measure receiving preliminary approval in the House.Representative Mike Dethrow of Alton sponsors a resolution that would force such petitions to receive two-thirds majorities for passage. If the Legislature approves the resolution it will go to a vote of the people in November and require only a simple majority for passage. Another favorable vote sends the measure to the Senate.
