Carlos Beltran led a balanced offensive attack as the Royals pounded the Padres 14-6 at Surprise, Arizona Sunday. Beltran was 3-3 with RBI’s and a run scored .The Royals snapped a 6-6 tie with two outs in the sixth inning when San Diego pitcher Edgar Huerta fielded a ground ball by Chad Santos and threw the ball over first base. Three runs scored on the error…Woody Williams was rocked for seven runs off six hits—two of which were home runs—as the Cardinals fell to the Dodgers 12-2 in Vero Beach, Florida. All seven of those runs came in the first inning. Scott Rolen was one of the lone bright spots at the plate for the Cardinals. Rolen was 2-3 with two RBI’s.
