The Rams have a new quarterback in the stable, signing Chris Chandler to a three-year deal yesterday. Debating who the Rams’ starting quarterback will be has become a past time in St. Louis, but Chandler won’t be a part of the equation. Head coach Mike Martz said Chandler is not a candidate for the starting job. Chandler was a Ram until the team moved to St. Louis in 1995. He worked under Martz, who was the Rams quarterbacks’ coach in 1994. He spent the last two seasons in a back up role for the Bears, but started six games in 2003 and had a quarterback rating of 61.3. Chandler’s best season was 1998, when he helped guide the Falcons to the Super Bowl.
