The NCAA Division II tournament rolled on with regional championships last night. In the South Central Regional, Northwest Missouri St. topped Drury 62-59, thanks to a three-pointer at the buzzer by Jesse Shaw. The Bearcats got the win after overcoming an 11-point deficit in the second half. Drury entered the game having won 21 of their last 22 games and knocked off the No. 4 and No. 1 seeds in the regional. Head coach Gary Stanfield stepped down as head coach with a 239-131 record in 13 seasons. The Panthers were 24-8 this season. For Northwest Missouri St. they now get ready for next week’s Elite 8 in Bakersfield, California. They’re 29-4.
