New challenges to the state’s conceal and carry gun law are issued. Motions filed in the State Supreme Court ask the Court to reconsider its February 26th decision on the unfunded mandate portion of the decision under the Hancock Amendment. Hancock does not allow the state to issue unfunded mandates ot counties. Representative Larry Crawford of California is the original sponsor of the legislation. He says the funding problem for conceal and carry can be solved. He worries what a court decision on unfunded mandates in general in the state would do. Last month’s decision by the court won’t become final until judges rule on these latest motions.
