The final game at the Hearnes Center was memroable, but for Missouri fans it will be memory they’d rather forget. Mizzou lost in heart-breaking fashion Sunday, falling 84-82 to Kansas. The Tigers themselves a hole in the second half, getting down 77-67 with 4:53 to go in the game. However, they roared back to take a one-point lead with 47 seconds to go after Jason Conley stole the ball and raced down the court for a dunk. On the next possession, Aaron Miles nailed a three pointer to give KU an 82-80 lead. Moments later, Conley hit to freethrows to re-tie the game at 82. With 15 seconds to go, the Jayhawks rushed down the court and set up an 8-foot jumper from the baseline that freshman David Padgett made to give the Jayhawks the victory. Arthur Johnson scored a career-high 37 points and eight reounds in the loss. Missouri dropped to 15-12 on the season and will be the 6th seed in this week’s Big 12 Tournament in Dallas. They’ll face 11th seeded Texas A&M on Thursday.
