An anonymous donor is giving the University of Missouri Athletic department $10-million to improve athletic facilities. It’s the third largest gift in MU history. The donor has established a fund called the Kansas City Sports Trust, and the Kansas City law firm Stinson, Morrison and Hecker, is managing it. Between eight and nine million will be used to expand and refurbish the athletic complex, which is just west of Faurot Field. Completion of the project is expected by August 2006. The rest of the donation will be used to support scholarships and for operational costs in the department.
