State Grapplers Meet In Columbia

February 19, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri state high school wrestling tournament gets underway this morning at the Hearnes Center in Columbia. Park Hill, which has seven wrestlers in 13 weight classes, is the defending champ in Class 3. Jefferson City Helias, which has traditionally dominated the sports, will have tough time defending their title in Class 2 because just three wrestlers qualified for the state meet this year. In class 1, Oak Grove is well represented–they have wrestlers in 11-of-13 weight classes. The tournament will crown the individual and team state champions on Saturday.
