The Legislature is being pressured again to get rid of the casino loss limit. Backers say Missouri is the only one of 37 states with legalized gambling that limitslosses. Sedalia Senator Jim Mathewson says casinos have told him they’d make big investments in convention facilities, hotels, and other operations if Missouri letgamblers lose more. But Executive Director Sam Morrell of Casino Watch says removing the loss limit would hurt the very people the gambling interests say would be helped.A Senate committee is considering three bills proposing changes in state gambling laws.
