Missouri schools already struggling with their finances face another loss because the federal education department is changing the way it distributes money under the No Child Left Behind law. Senator Christopher Bond estimates the loss at about $9.3-Million. He and several other Senators are protesting the Department’s change in the way it estimates the number of children living in poverty in school districts. They say the Department should have revealed its plans before Congress passed its education appropriations.
