SMS’ 14-game streak over Northern Iowa is over. The Panthers exacted revenge at the UNI Dome by downing the Bears 64-59. SMS found itself in a hole in the second half, but eventually erased a 12-point lead to tie the game at 48 with about 4 minutes to go. Unfortunately for head coach Barry Hinson, his team couldn’t gain the lead. Merrill Andrews and Monwell Randle were the only Bears in double-digit scoring with 10 points apiece. SMS had trouble from the field, hitting just 36 percent of their shots last night. SMS is 15-9 overall 7-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. UNI broke its fourth place tie with the Bears, improving to 13-8 and 8-5.
