The Blues can go into the All Star Break with a lighter load. In their final game before the break, St. Louis grabbed 2-1 win in Calgary and snapped an eight-game winless streak. Keith Tkachuk got St. Louis on the board in the second period with his 23rd goal of the season. With the score tied 1-1 in the third period, Scott Mellanby scored on a pass from Doug Weight for the game winner. But the Blues weren’t out of the woods yet—they had to kill off a boarding penalty from Dallas Drake over the final two and a half minutes to secure the win. Chris Osgood was in goal and stopped 19 shots for the win.
