AMTRAK is threatening to cut passenger train service between St. Louis and Kansas City if the state does not put another $800,000 into the subsidized service. AMTRAK says it needs the money by the end of the month. The Legislature coughed up $800,000 a year ago when AMTRAK threatened cutbacks.
