Eight people have filed lawsuits claiming they were abused while in the Greene County Jail on misdemeanor charges. The sheriff says he’s not aware of any abuses and says he doesn’t remember any complaints until now from any of the people filing the lawsuit. Lawyers from the plaintiffs say they’ll ask the county prosecutor to appoint an independent investigation by the Highway Patrol. Three of those who filed the lawsuit say they had to seek hospital treatment for injuries suffered in the jail. Two women say they were forced to undress in front of mail inmates.
