The death sentence has been lifted for one of the two men who killed a St. Louis bank guard seven years ago. The Federal Appeals Court in St. Louis has reduced the sentence for Billie Jerome Allen to life in prison. The court says the original federal indictment against Allen did not include aggravating circumstances necessary to justify a death sentence. The other man convicted in the case, Norris Holder, remains under a death sentence.
