The SMS Lady Bears continue to clear out everyone in their path. On Monday, SMS dusted Evansville on the road 79-59, earning their 14th straight victory. Keri Koch led the Lady Bears in scoring with 15 points, Meg Tierney had 14 and K.C. Cowgill added 12 by hitting four three-pointers. Point guard Morgan Hohenberger scored all 11 of her points in a 12-1 run in the second half. With the win, SMS improved to 16-1, which is their best start in school history. They’re also 7-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference, which gives them sole possession of first place in the league. Their efforts still aren’t good enough to get any national recognition, as the A.P. poll has them ranked 31st.
