Governor Bob Holden has announced a new initiative aimed at fighting Missouri’s methamphetamine problem. He’s signed three executive orders: First and foremost is one that creates the Missouri Methamphetamine Education and Prevention Task Force. A second executive order, creating the Missouri Methamphetamine Treatment Task Force, focuses on treatment for those who have become hooked on the drug. The third reorganizes the existing Clandestine Lab Task Force and renames it the Methamphetamine Enforcement and Environmental Protection Task Force, expanding its focus to deal with officer and environmental safety.
