The departure of St. Louis Congressman Richard Gephardt from the race for the White House leaves the field wide open for Missouri’s February 3rd presidential primary. And, some of the Democratic hopefuls still in the race are already looking for support in the Show-Me State. Senator John Edwards of North Carolina is looking to talk to State Auditor Claire McCaskill, who’s challenging Governor Bob Holden in this state’s race for Governor. McCaskill says the “meeting” will probably be a phone call because Edwards is busy criss-crossing New Hampshire in advance of next Tuesday’s presidential primary in that state.
