The SMS Bears had a dreadful offensive performance and were bounced by Illinois State 52-42 on the road. The Bears owned a four-game winning streak coming into the game but shot just 32 percent from the field, committed 17 turnovers and had just three assists on the day. They dropped to 11-6 on the season and 3-3 in the Missouri Valley conference. It was only the fifth time they’ve ever scored less than 44 points since becoming a Division-I program 22 seasons ago.
