St. Louis Man Sues Radio Show Over Stutter

January 10, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

A St. Louis man who stutters has sued a Seattle-based country music radio show, claiming he was not allowed to make an on-air dedication because of his serious stutter. Robert Tart has filed his suit in St. Louis Circuit Court. He alleges that he called the syndicated “Lia” show several times in an effort to make a song dedication to his ex-wife and was told, “We don’t do the stutter thing.” Tart’s lawyer says his client was humiliated by the incident and is seeking actual and punitive damages against Lia’s employer, Jones Radio Networks Incorporated, and WIL-FM – the station which broadcast the show in St. Louis.
