Kansas City-based H&R Block has reached an agreement with about a dozen former franchises to pay them an additional $130-Million to settle a lawsuit concerning the value of their businesses. The tax preparation giant had already paid $107-Million to buy back the franchises, but they claimed that price was too low. They launched court action, claiming Block wasn’t paying them a portion of the profits that accrued during their decades-long business relationship.
