Former Independence Church Deacon Gets 25 Year Sentence In Sex Abuse Case

January 10, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

A former church deacon from Independence has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex acts with eight children. 42-year-old John Logan committed the crimes between 1997 and last year. The sex acts involved six boys and two girls, ranging in age from 8 to 16. Prosecutors say none of the acts took place at Tri-City Ministries in Independence, where Logan was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. They say most of the sex acts took place at Logan’s home and the homes of some of his victims.
