DuMond Sentenced To Life In 2000 Kansas City Area Killing

January 10, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

A Clay County jury has sentenced convicted killer Wayne DuMond to life in prison for murdering Parkville resident Carol Sue Shields in 2000. Prosecutors say DuMond, a convicted rapist, suffocated Shields and left her nude body bound on a bed in an apartment in Kansas City North. DuMond, who had been parolled in Arkansas, was arrested in June of 2001, just hours after Arkansas authorities informed police that the material found under Shields’ fingernails matched DuMond’s DNA in the FBI database.
